The artist with the will for erasing the form in the state of order and disorder, difference and non-difference, ironically created a new form. On a form that cannot be classified in any way and trapped in any form, the energy emitted from the stools combined with the heterogeneous materials encourages you to escape the stereotypes. Lee Sam-woong polished the work’s appearance by attaching thick mother-of-pearl to the synthetic resin body with the basic form of the stool, applying the resin as thick as the mother-of-pearl, and grinding the irregular surface. He produced Amorphous Series_from pearl 2018 by applying the pyeongtal technique to modern materials. It is designed to maximize the characteristics of the mother-of-pearl, considering the various patterns and colors produced by the changing reflectivity of the mother-of-pearl attached to the curved surface along the center line of the tilted stool. And it replaces the durability problem of the najeon technique attached on the wood with modern materials, and it is enhanced to be used as outdoor furniture. It emphasizes the merit of enjoying the work under the sunlight where the najeon’s color emanates most beautifully and is made faithful to the function of the outdoor furniture by using the outdoor paint. It is made of furniture that satisfies both functionality and aesthetic at the same time without being bound to either indoor or outdoor place.
